Materials

Each of my unique hand crafted pieces of jewelry are finished with the highest quality materials.

What is Gold Fill(ed)?

Gold Fill(ed) jewelry consists of a thick layer of real gold that is mechanically bonded through intense heat and pressure over a base metal such as brass. Per Industry regulation, the amount of gold bonded to the base metal must consist of at least 5% (1/20th) of the total weight. This process results in a high quality, durable piece that look and feels just like solid gold.

Gold Filled is a great alternative to solid gold for those that love the look and feel of solid gold but want to forego the cost. With proper care, your gold filled jewelry will last just as long as solid gold.

Other reasons to love Gold Filled:

-Gold Filled is 100% hypoallergenic, meaning sensitive skin friendly.

-Gold Fill is very durable & won't peel, flake, rust, tarnish, or fade when properly cared for (Please read our Jewelry Care Guide).

-Gold Fill will never have that fake metal smell and turn your skin green.

What is Sterling Silver?

Sterling Silver is constructed with 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metal alloys. This gives the metal just enough malleability to create while staying durable for everyday wear. This is why you will typically notice your silver with a .925 stamp. This indicates the purity of the silver and alloys used.

Sterling Silver is prone to tarnishing. We recommend keeping your sterling silver in a jewelry box away from the elements to prolong the life of your jewelry. Please see our Jewelry Care Guide for further tips.

What are the Quality Ratings on the Gemstones?

You will typically see that our jewelry descriptions tell you just what kind of gem you are looking at; along with giving you the specific name, we also list a quality grade-i.e. AA grade quality, AAA grade quality. This grading system is used to determine what quality of a stone it is.

AAA Grade Quality is the highest standard for gemstone beads. Many jewelers opt to use them in fine pieces because they can stand up against damage from daily wear while maintaining their beauty and brilliance without any special care aside from some gentle cleaning and proper storage.

In a very close second is AA Grade Quality; these gem beads have a rich appearance that stand out among other less shiny gems that are lower on the Quality Ratings Scale. These gems will also have a high shine and luster like their AAA grade quality sisters.

Please note that we do not assign these ratings as they must be done by professional Gemologist.
